The local government and the people of Wondama regency are going to celebrate Festival Roon 2025 from 22 to 24 October 2025 in Yende village of Roon island, and The 100 years Anniversary of Papuan Civilization in Aitumieri Hill of Wasior town.
This cultural and art event will be conducted on 22 to 24 October 2025 in Roon island and then in Aitumieri Hill of Wasior town on 25 October 2025 - the Centennial Celebration of Papua Civilization.
How to get there?
- Visitor need to fly from their countries to Manokwari city which is the capital of West Papua Province in Indonesia.
- After that visitors could continue their trip by Fast Passenger Ferry to Yende village (tickets could only be bought manually at Anggrem Harbor of Manokwari city)
- Visitors could also fly from Rendani airport of Manokwari city to Wasior town by Susi Air which operates Cessna Caravan 208 aircraft several times a week between Manokwari city and Wasior town (tickets could be bought manually at Susi Air office in Rendani airport or through online website traveloka.com). After that the trip from Wasior to Yende could be conducted by speedboat.

- International visitors could stay in basic homestays that are provided by villagers. The average cost is 500,000 rupiahs (approximately 32 US dollars) per person per night. Meals are provided.

- There are a number of hotels in Wasior town which international visitors could book to stay during their trip to Yende village in Roon island and Wasior town.
