Wasior Town - The Capital of Hibiscus

Wasior is a small town which is also the seat of the capital of Wondama regency. Wasior can be considered as the capital of hibiscus. Whereever we go, we will see hibiscus. They have bright colours and can easily be observed.

Wasior is a coastal town whose beaches have got coral reef. They are the habitat of hundreds of species of tropical fish including parrotfish, wrasse, anemonefish, moorish idol, butterflyfish and etc. Visitors can enjoy swimming and snorkeling to see them but they need to bring underwater cameras.

Behind Wasior town is the famous Wondiboy mountains which are covered by pristine tropical rainforest. Therefore, in addition to seeing tropical flowers, visitors can enjoy hiking or trekking to one of the hills of Wondiboy mountains. There are waterfalls which tourists can visit too.

Flight Route

It is easy to go to Wasior town, visitors need to fly from their country to one of the major cities of Indonesia such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Manado, or Makassar. After that, they can continue their trip by taking domestic flights served by Lion Air and Batik Air to Manokwari city.

From Manokwari city, visitors can go by ship or fast ferry. Visitors can also fly from Manokwari city to Wasior by a small turboprop airplane of Susi Air.
